Corporate Social Responsibility at Chick-a-dees
What I do?
When running a webshop you have a lot of choices that have to be made. Not only about the collection and products, but certainly also about the logistics process.
For example, I bring all parcels and packages to the post office in my electric car every day. My office is lit with as many LED lamps as possible and the kitchen boiler is equipped with a timer so that it does not heat up unnecessarily at night.
I make sure there are no empty packaging around the products that create unnecessary volume. The shipping packaging of our products is kept as small as possible; for example, the transporter really drives with a full truck and not with empty air.
The shipping bags I use are made from recycled plastic.
The shipping boxes we use are often reused . Boxes from our suppliers are used to ship larger orders to our customers.
The shipping boxes we buy are unbleached and the paper and cardboard we use is FSC certified as much as possible .
Did you know that an ecological search engine is also a sustainable alternative to google, duckduckgo or yahoo? It's called ECOSIA, the link and more information can be found here .
Do you have any great tips that I can use to make my business operations even more sustainable, please let me know!
Sustainable range of outdoor clothing and discover toys
You can also see this in my range. In any case, the high quality of products ensures that you can use them for a longer period of time. In this way, the outer clothing is easily passed on to the next child and can safely come along for another round.
Much of the outerwear has an Oekotex certification, is sustainably produced by reusing materials or is sustainable in some other way.
Many toys are made from residual materials, such as the Green-Bean series from Dantoy. Depending on the amount and colors of residual materials, each toy is colored slightly differently. There are many natural colors such as brown and green tones.
Another great example of sustainable toys is the bio-plastic toy series from Dantoy. Much of the material for this comes from sugar cane. Pelliani a brand from Sweden has even made drinking cups from wheat.
